What people say about themselves can reveal a lot about a person. When Moses asks God to reveal His glory to him, God talks about His character. As a God of compassion and grace, YaHWeH wanted and still wants a relationship with His people. He is heartbroken when His people refuse to keep up their part of the covenant. Jesus shows the same heart throughout His ministry through His teaching, example, and ultimately the cross.
