The 7 years of abundance are over. Now the 7 years of famine have hit Egypt and the rest of the known world. The famine has hit the land of Canaan, and Jacob’s family is feeling the impact. Jacob decides to send his sons to buy food, but Benjamin stays with Jacob. God was in the process of rescuing Jacob’s family. As Jesus talks with the Samaritan woman at the well, He tells her that He can offer her living water. Jesus offers her spiritual rescue as He reveals Himself to be both the Messiah and God Himself.
