The 9- brothers are back in Egypt to get more food. This time, Benjamin is with them. Joseph tells the house steward to get things ready because the brothers are going to dine at Joseph’s house. This terrifies the brothers because they only know him at “the man.” This fear leads to incredible leaps of logic. In the New Testament, Jesus invites weak and weary people to “Come to Me” because He offers rest. In Luke 5, Jesus tells the Pharisees, “It is not those who are healthy who need a physician, but those who are sick. I have not come to call the righteous to repentance, but sinners.” That is why He chooses to eat and drink with “tax collectors and sinners.” Today on “In Need of a Refill,” Kevin Smith looks at Genesis 43, Matthew 11, and Luke 5 to discuss both Joseph’s invitation to his brothers and ultimately Jesus’ invitation to mankind to “Come to the Table of Mercy.”
