Freedom never comes cheap or easy. When Moses, Aaron, and the Israelite elders went to Pharaoh with the message, “Let My people go,” Pharaoh responded by withholding the straw they needed to make bricks without lowering their daily quota of bricks. This turned into the Israelites turning on Moses and Aaron. In Matthew 10, Jesus tells the disciples that the message of the Gospel will lead to persecution and even physical death as brother will betray brother. In 1 Peter 4, Peter talks about the fact that people are not going to understand the transformation in attitudes and behaviors a Christian goes through.
