The God of Covenant Faithfulness and Truth

Many in the world view God as a tyrant just looking for someone to destroy. This is not how God defines Himself in Exodus 34 nor is this backed up by the evidence in Scripture. The only times God changes His mind are when He can save a life. God could have simply wiped Israel out after the Golden Calf incident in Exodus 32. Instead He shows His desire for a relationship through His great mercy and compassion. As time is growing close to the destruction of Jerusalem in 586 BC, He has Jeremiah write a scroll to reinforce His desire for Judah to return to Him. God did not want to destroy His people. Zacharias prophesies about the forerunner preparing the way for the Coming Messiah. God had kept His promises for millennia despite mankind’s wickedness. The promise of the Messiah’s coming was being fulfilled. Today on “In Need of a Refill,” Kevin Smith looks at Exodus 32, Exodus 34, Jeremiah 36, and Luke 1 to talk about “The God of Covenant Faithfulness and Truth.”
